Senior EMEA Revenue Recognition Manager - Oracle - Dublin




Job description

The EMEA Revenue Recognition team is a group of highly motivated professionals who leverage their knowledge and expertise to enable Oracle Business Leaders to execute business with partners and customers that will maximise Oracle’s revenues, whilst ensuring the highest standard of compliance with Oracle’s internal controls, business practices including internal and external accounting policies.
As a member of this highly skilled team, you will be working closely with various stakeholders (e.g. Deal Management, Business Practices, Legal) to ensure Oracle’s Revenue Recognition policies are adhered to and that revenues are recognised appropriately.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for recruitment, performance management, conducting appraisals and identifying training and development needs of their direct reports and the wider team
- Review significant signed contracts for compliance with US GAAP and Oracle’s Revenue RecognitionPolicy to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Liaise with Global RevRecteam and external auditors to ensure consistent application of revenue accounting
- Provide technical accounting advice to Sales, Deal Management and Legal teams during deal negotiation stage such that revenues are maximized where possible in accordance with external and internal accounting guidance
- Lead or assist in special projects as assigned
- Identify, develop and establish relationships with key stakeholders such as Sales, Finance, Deal - Management and Legal organizations
- Liaise with stakeholders in the region to ensure training needs of their departments as regards Rev Rec are met
- Develop relationships with our external auditors to ensure all quarterly audit requirements are met on a timely basis.
- Maintain an up to date and thorough knowledge of the technical accounting policies, including Oracle’s internal Revenue Recognition Policy

PERSONAL SKILLS:

- Excellent people management/leadership skills and strong teamplayer

- Strong decision making and problem solving skills

- Minimum of 7+ years industry experience

- Minimum of 5+ years in a leadership / managerial position
-Strong influencing and persuasion skills at senior levels
-Ability to develop strong cross functional relationships with various business partners across various functions, including Finance, Sales, Business Approval steams
-Strong technical accounting skills
- Ability to interpret, present and explain complex accounting issues to various internal business contacts
-Excellent organisation skills and the ability to handle multiple, competing tasks simultaneously, whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
-Highly customer focused and results oriented
-Self starter, ability to work independently, and recommend continuous process improvement in a rapidly changing environment
-Fluent in English and additional European language skills is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified Accountant or equivalent business degree/MBA qualification with at least 7 years senior financial experience
- US GAAP ASC 985-605 (SOP 97-2), ASC 985-605-25 incl ASU 13and ASU 14 experience is ideal but not essential
