Job Description
With the pending establishment of our new international HQ in Dublin Ireland Pinger is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the finance and accounting operations for its emerging European and rest of world business. This is the first key hire in the international team and will be a very visible role in the company. Position will report directly to head of finance and accounting in the US.
Primary responsibilities Include
- Manage day to day accounting operations of newly setup Irish operating company.
- Book revenue and cost entries for the European and ROW businesses
- Manage Intercompany transactions between Irish entity and other Pinger entities as directed in intercompany agreements
- Work with US Accounting manager to consolidate financial statements at month end and eliminate entries for consolidation
- Manage outsourced payroll and benefits processing for staff in Ireland and other sales and marketing entities in Europe and the ROW
- Oversee daily financial relationship with vendors and business partners in Europe and the Rest of World
- Oversee VAT reporting for consumer transactions
Other duties :
- Preparation and review of workpapers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances
- Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
- Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
- Review the General Ledger to analyze and reconcile various account
- Ability to work with overseas international staff and consultants for international consolidation
- Maintain internal financial controls and procedures, including developing and/or updating procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
- Special projects as needed
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 4 years experience as a controller with a consumer internet or software company. This is a very hands on role. The successful candidate will be capable of managing the entire accounting operation themselves as well as oversee the HR and admin functions for the Irish operating company.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP/ IFRS is essential, CPA designation preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in mobile communications industry or mobile advertising industry a plus
- Familiar with QuickBooks
- Confidential, understands the ethical standards of a CPA
- Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
