An experienced Supplier Management professional to establish the Strategic Vendor Management Office within the Bank of Ireland.
The Bank of Ireland Group offers personal, business and corporate banking. A traditional, relationship-driven retail and commercial bank with a conservative business philosophy, the Bank of Ireland are wishing to recruit a Head of Vendor Delivery to ensure the effective governance and oversight of all key strategic supplier relationships.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure and Application Service, the Head of Vendor Delivery will drive strategic outsource IT supplier relationships to ensure the fulfilment of the Bank of Ireland’s goals. With particular interest in IBM, BT and HCL monitoring of existing and potential strategic agreements, effective metrics, audit ability, commercial & financial governance, risk assessment and payment processes is expected. Acting as the Bank of Ireland’s business owner with respect to strategic supplier relationships, the Head of Vendor Delivery will work with IT, business & procurement to create key sourcing strategies, research best of industry practices and implement effective oversight processes. Internally, the Head of Vendor Delivery will engage with and manage the interactions with the Group IT Infrastructure Development, Group Finance and Group Procurement whilst managing the issues according to governance escalation procedures. Evaluation and approval of all action plans, innovation and gain-sharing mechanism and oversee all contract related policies and procedures is expected.
The successful candidate will have gained significant experience within a senior management role with relevant supplier management and implementation Tier 1 / Tier 2 major outsource agreements experience to match. With a proven track record in managing IT outsource agreements of <£100million and a background in IT and ITIL and COBIT, the successful candidate will be a strong project manager with heightened organisation skills and a proactive approach to work. Negotiation and communications skills are key to success in this role as you will be the external & internal contact point for the Bank of Ireland for IT Outsource Supplier management.
