Direct Procurement Purchasing Manager Avaya - Ireland, Galway



Job Description

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Full stratrgic responsibility for the Commodity Management process for Direct Goods and Services in support of Avaya's business for assigned Sales Area in EMEA
  2. Responsibile for cost reductions to meet corporate targets.
  3. Drive cooperation with business units leadership/ Managing Directors and all functional business owners, as well as Finance, Legal, Audit, Risk, Security.
  4. Support End USers with procurement issues and selection of Suppliers.
  5. Manage Contracts and Databases.
  6. Facilitate new contract development and reconstruct sub-optimal, existing contracts.
  7. Develop policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
  8. Monitoer the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major sub-contracts.
  9. Assures cost modelling and business cases.
  10. Coordinates purchasing activities with all functional owners.
  11. Provides guidence to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
  12. Manages through subordinate supervisors the coordination of activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and employees.
  13. Create, influence and execute Commodity strategies in alignment with Commodity owner.
  14. Run sourcing events - RFP, RFI and benchmarks.
  15. Establish e-sourcing tools in the performance of duties.
  16. Report accomplishments and communicate initiatives and other issues to leadership and within Corporate Procurement team.

Desired Skills & Experience

Your profile:
  1. Typically requires 5-8 years experience and a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work well with others.
  3. Must be able to Draft and Red-Line contracts.
  4. Must be able to run a Sourcing event end-to-end
  5. IT systems knowledge in SAP, ARIBA ( or similar ERP) and MS Office
  6. Market and legal knowledge required in addition to procurement skills.
  7. Language skill in ENGLISH and/ or GERMAN.
  8. Ability to work indepentently, to initiate savings strategies and to close tasks, projects and programs efficiently.
  9. Based in GALWAY, Ireland
  10. Must be comfortable working in a matrix
